Before I begin, let me explain something: I picked up my food obsession from my mom, who is CONSTANTLY baking, if not for us to eat then to give away to others as a gift or to go in the freezer for those foodie days we all know & welcome with open arms. So when it came to Easter, instead of buying Easter eggs for others, we decided to give people home baked goods, how wouldn’t love that!? Basically my sister, my mum, & I spent the whole day of last Saturday baking. By the end of it I never wanted to see another chocolate scrap or biscuit base ever again. All three of us were high on the amount of sugar we had consumed in the making of the gifts, it was brilliant!
These are just some of the finished products:
Basic butter biscuits with a white chocolate top:
Pavlova with fresh cream, mango, chocolate shavings & mini eggs:
Maple pecan swirls:
Chocolate brownies with walnuts:
Easter basket cheesecake (which rather unfortunately ran):
Rocky road with half a caramel egg on top:
Copious amounts of cookies (one batch with Toblerone, one with crushed Kimberley biscuits, one with Galaxy Caramel, & one with Whole Nut):
As well as homemade ice cream in the shape of an egg:
& finally – Chocolate caramel squares:
It was such a productive day!
