Countries of the World
How many countries are there? What a question!
Well, in my eyes, there are 200.
There are the 193 fully recognized members of the United Nations; apart from the United Kingdom, all of them are included below. I have removed the UK as a whole and instead included each of the member countries separately.
I’ve also included four other countries that, although not official members of the United Nations, I think deserve a spot on the list.

In case it wasn’t obvious, travel is something I am immensely passionate about. Here’s a little peek at my personal travel stats:
4 CONTINENTS
Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America.
32 COUNTRIES
144 FLIGHTS
Between 51 different airports.
63 UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES
Out of 1,223.
although not actually recognized by the United Nations itself, Kosovo is recognized by over 100 member states.
despite being a non-member, Palestine holds the status of “permanent observer” in the United Nations. As well as that, as of May 2024, Ireland officially recognized Palestine as a state.
similar to Kosovo, Taiwan is not a UN member, but it is recognized by some member states.
again, although technically another non-member, Vatican City holds the status of “permanent observer” in the United Nations.
