Cookbook Club, July 2021
Hi friends, happy Sunday! How are you this fine morning? It’s not too sunny, there’s a nice breeze, and I’ve already had three cups of coffee. Upon dragging my lazy butt out of bed this morning, I was treated to the very best surprise: Boyfriend made his Blueberry Cornmeal Muffins! Isn’t he just the sweetest? I think so! They were moist and sugary and crumbly in all the right ways, and now I’m set for the day ahead! Anyways! I’m here today to share our Cookbook Club, July 2021 picks with you and I’m so excited about it! Two amazing cookbooks by two amazing women. One of them is a well-worn favourite, and the other is completely new-to-me.
All of the links and information below! Can I convince you to join me? Let’s!
Cookbook Club, July 2021
Molly On The Range, Molly Yeh
I’ve had this book for years, and I’m totally obsessed with Molly – I can’t wait for her next book to come out! I’m eternally envious of those in the US who get to watch her on the Food Network, but having her cookbook is a good tradeoff. There are so many gems in MOTR – bacon mac & cheese! falafels! challah! – but I’m looking forward to digging deeper. I just had my first look-through with the cookbook club in mind and there’s a very intriguing cookie recipe that caught my eye. Watch this space – I shall report back!

The Violet Bakery Cookbook, Claire Ptak
I am so excited to use this cookbook! It is the newest addition to my library and I haven’t had a chance to make anything yet – so yay! I’ve been admiring Violet bakery on Instagram for literal years, and I even tried to go there once, but it was closed. I was flying home later the same day and I was so disappointed I missed out! And then, of course, Claire made the royal wedding cake and Violet went viral. I swear – I knew about it before it was cool. I have loads of recipes dog-eared for this month, but I’m especially excited to try the egg-yolk chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls. Yum!
