Monthly Musings: November 2024
our monthly dose of ramblings, ft. our first wedding anniversary!
Friends! Hej from Stockholm! Happy November! How are you? I hope this post finds you happy, healthy, and weekending to the very best of your abilities! I myself - along with Husband, obvz - am currently weekending to the absolute max by frolicking around the sparkly new-to-me city of Stockholm! We touched down in the land of IKEA, ABBA, Swedish meatballs, and kanelbullar on Thursday around noon, and we’ve spent every moment since then a. finding an excuse to fika and b. gawping at the prettiness of the city - it’s so lovely! Anyways, more on that another time — I’m here to share my Monthly Musings: November 2024 post with you. Lets!
I’ll be quick, promise!

Today, 9th November 2024, marks a whole year since our wedding! Well, okay - technically we got legally married on the 2nd last year BUT STILL. We’ve been married a year! How it has been a whole 12-months since our wedding is beyond me, but it’s so exciting!! We decided to go away as our gift to each other - hence Stockholm - and it feels like the perfect way to celebrate such a wonderful year! Here’s to many, many more, Rob ❤️

You might remember from last month’s MM that we were in London for a friend’s wedding, and omg it was so fun! It literally felt like the fastest visit ever, but it was so nice to go back and visit some of our favourite old haunts again! I’ll probably end up sharing a short recap of what we got up to soon-ish, but for now please enjoy the above polaroids we snapped at the wedding.

In case you missed it, I’ve started sharing my Vietnamese guides to the blog! First up was Two Weeks in Vietnam | Our Top Tips & Itinerary - which will act as the kind of “master” post, with a link to all the others once they’re up! - and then also Four Days in Hanoi, which is a capital city specific guide. I’ll have a food & drink Hanoi companion *hopefully* ready to share next week, and the rest of the guides ready in the not too distant future. Which guide are you most excited for?

Related: I also shared my Girly Getaway to Glasgow, Scotland post last month! It’s a short but sweet post detailing everywhere Bestie and I went eating and drinking to excess exploring during our 38-hours in town. When I actually sat down to write the post, I was very pleasantly surprised at the sheer volumes of things we managed to pack into such a short space of time - we had so much fun!

Did you do any spooktacular Halloween viewing? We went off-piste this year by watching Sinister, which scared the living daylights out of me even though I’ve seen it many times, and Scream, because needs must. I mean, would it even be Halloween without a viewing of Scream? I think not. We also watched House of Wax in the lead up to the day itself - yes, the remake with Paris Hilton and Chad Michael Murray - and wow, it really awakened my deep-seeded teenage crush on CMM! Hot dog!

I’m well & truly back on the book train and it’s going so well that I managed to finish two last month! The Lovely Bones, which I couldn’t remember but had the general feeling that I didn’t like it the first time, was surprisingly a great read this time round - how bizarre! I followed that up with Margot’s Got Money Troubles, which I also really enjoyed! About a late-teen mother who starts an OnlyFans account, this one was more of a beachside naff read, but I enjoyed it none the less. And I read it’s going to be made into a TV-show with Nicole Kidman + Elle Fanning, so that should be fun!
Okay, I’ll have to stop there - Husband is vying for my attention with a large coffee & freshly baked kanelbullar! More details next month! Have the most fantastic November - it’s such a beautiful month!
Hugs,
Vicki xo
